Luigi Bordoni

Having taken over his father-in-law’s small laboratory, Luigi Bordoni founded the first industrial reality in the production of oils for alimentary use. We are in 1887 and from this moment onwards the evolution of machinery and production processes trigger the rise of this industrial group that will become a point of reference not only for the reality of Ticino but for the whole of Switzerland.

1925

Carlo Bordoni

Carlo Bordoni, Luigi’s son, rides the growth by strengthening the industrial structures and creating SABO, the first European oil refinery with continuous production. In this period, the export sector also becomes the driving force of the company.

1973

Gian Carlo Bordoni

People’s health, environmental protection, certifications, these are the foundations that distinguish the management of the Oleificio under the direction of Gian Carlo Bordoni since 1973. His training led him to invest in the sector of controlled production and traceability of raw materials. A road marked by quality and well-being with the creation of new technologies in the sector.

1990

Stefania Bordoni

Stefania Bordoni starts the second historical cycle of the Bordoni family and represents the fifth generation active within the company.

1997

Sabo Italia

In 1997, a new company was founded: Sabo Italia srl in Ginestra Fiorentina, Tuscany (Italy). The company deals with the packaging of oils of all qualities and today exports to 66 countries.

2000

SoloVerde

With headquarters in Timisoara (Romania) and with new production facilities in Stamora Germana, Soloverde guarantees the supply of organic oils
and the traceability of the product, from harvesting to bottling.

2014

Qingtian Trading Ltd

In 2014, Qingtian Bordoni Trading Ltd was established in China to import Bordoni Group oils in Asia.

2017

Bordoni1845

With the brand BORDONI1845 begins an exciting new challenge aimed at the organic, vegan and health market. A sector that once represented a market niche and that today imposes itself with increasingly upward growth trends.

2019

The sixth generation

In 2019, the sixth generation
of the Bordoni family is an active and interesting participant, already at a young age, of the various dynamics of the company and of the oil world.

2020

From Sabo to Bordoni Italia

The factory in Ginestra Fiorentina (Italy) changes only its company name to BORDONI ITALIA SRL, using the new company trademark. Its nature and activity are not altered.
